Imagine yourself enjoying the evening sun setting over the ocean from the balcony of a cabin at the Christies Beach Tourist Park, beside one of Adelaide's most popular southern beaches.
Here, the sea-lover will be able to partake in a diverse range of aquatic activities. You can swim, body surf, sail, snorkel, fish or simply relax on the beach. Pass your time by watching waves break over the horseshoe reef straight out the front of the park. Perhaps you'll see some dolphins playing in the sun and surf.
Our Park is within walking distance (500m) of a cafe with a very popular indoor adventure playground (ages 1-10. Play'n'Fun – an entry fee applies). Alternatively, a large FREE outdoor community adventure playground (ages 4-12) is on the banks of the Onkaparinga estuary 3km away at Port Noarlunga.
The Port Noarlunga jetty and Onkaparinga Mouth estuary are popular fishing spots. Another popular spot is the boat ramp just 5km away at O'Sullivans Beach. For the snorkelling or diving enthusiast, the Port Noarlunga Reef – which is directly accessible from the end of the jetty and visible at low tide – is a must to discover.
Within 3km is the Noarlunga Leisure & Entertainment Centre which has a movie cinema with 5 theatres, ten pin bowling, ice-skating and an indoor swimming pool. Shop till you drop at the large regional shopping complex, Colonnades at Noarlunga Centre has over 160 specialty shops, 3 major department stores and 2 supermarkets.
You cannot go hungry, as within a 1-3km radius are all the popular takeaway food outlets – KFC, McDonalds, Subway, Fasta Pasta, 3 Chinese restaurants, numerous Bakeries & Pizza Cafes, the Christies Beach and Port Noarlunga Hotels, Colonnades Tavern and various Fish and Chip shops.
The new "Fuze" Food & Wine Tapas Bar on the Esplanade comes highly recommended by the Managers, Daryl & Sandi-Kate Hutchins at Christies Beach Tourist Park as well as by SA food critics and locals alike!
The Park is approximately 8km from a popular skateboard ramp and safe bikeway.
The exceptional and numerous wines of the vast McLaren Vale wine region (just 20 minutes away), are complimented by local specialty produce outlets. These include the Olive Grove Shop, the Mixed Berry farm, the Almond Train, the Rainbow Trout Farm, the Deer and Marron Farm, Medlow Confectionery and the Alexandrina Cheese Company.
